2014 HMIS Data Standards Implementation

September 16, 2014

COMING SOON: The New 2014 HMIS Data Standards – Throughout September and October, HMIS users should expect ongoing communication about the implementation of the new HMIS Data Standards. Bowman Systems, our HMIS vendor, has made available for preview version 5.11, which implements the new standards. Currently and over the course of the next week, the HMIS team will be evaluating the best possible approaches for implementation here in Maine. We want to be sure we do this in a way that is mindful of reporting requirements and ensures the smoothest transition. Part of this requires the team to make administrative modifications to over 300 individual projects that enter client level data into the system, and we want to make sure these modifications are in place correctly before launch.

The HMIS Team will be providing training on the new Standards during this time. Because there are significant changes in data collection and data entry, the trainings will be mandatory for all system users. We expect to deliver trainings in Bangor, Portland, and Augusta, and will be breaking trainings out by project type. More details to follow on both training and implementation plans. Stay tuned
